NASA for Kids offers games, homework helper provides detailed info about each planet and its moons and suggestions for reports on planets, do-it-yourself instruction for building your own spacecrafts, articles about the different plants and missions to explore those planets, and lower-level activities that would be great for students who require modifications.
National Geographic for Kids offers games, videos, and science experiments. It would be a great resource for kids to explore science at home. There is a Solar System 101 video that would be a good tool for introducing a solar system unit, games for reinforcing facts about Pluto, and quizzes for assessing understanding about the moon and space exploration. This site is also a great tool for Social Studies.
Enchanted Learning's Astronomy pages would be great for a webquest research activity. The site contains information about spaces voyages, the planets, space rocks, eclipses, etc. It also provides quizzes, data collection sheets, and instructions for building a solar system model.
