Another late night 3:00am rising for the moon! I was hoping to catch a glimpse of it this morning at 7:00am, but it was cloudy...again! Had I been able to see the moon, I can estimate based on the previous day that it would be a small cresent. Tonight should be close to a new moon! Above is a picture of what I would have seen had I been able to see the moon last night.

Before running outside to see the moon at 10pm last night, I checked to see what time it was supposed to rise - 2:34am. As I was not going to be awake at 2:34am, I decided since it rose so late it might still be up early this morning. At 6:00am it was still dark, but so cloudy that I couldn't see the moon. Had I been able to see it, it would have been in crescent phase. Above is a picture.

The sky last night was clear, but the moon didn't rise until after midnight, so I did not see it. However, I know that based on the phase the previous day, that it was in waning gibbous phase. I expect to see a new moon in about a week! Above is a picture of what the moon would have looked like, had I seen it.

I couldn't see the moon again last night! It has been driving me crazy as to why, so I researched it. According to earthsky.org, the moon didn't rise until about midnight last night! This is why I have been missing the moon the last few nights! I go to bed by 10pm each night, so this is why I haven't seen the moon. Had I stayed up last night, I would have seen the moon in the last quarter phase. Above is a picture of what I would have seen.

Last night after class, I went to the library to do homework for a bit. When I left around 8:oopm, I looked for the moon but couldn't find it! The sky was mostly clear, so I thought maybe it was just behind some trees or a building, but even after driving to a different area of downtown, I didn't see it. I predict that it would be about a phase or two away from quarter moon, which would make it a waning gibbous. Above is a picture of what the moon would have looked like had I been able to see it.

It's 7:20pm and I just got out of class. As soon as I walked outside, I noticed that the sky is covered in a blanket of clouds. I am unable to see the moon at all, but predict that it is a waning gibbous and close to the quarter moon phase. Above is what the moon would likely look like if I could see it tonight.

I learned that the reason I couldn't see the moon Sunday night is because didn't rise until nearly 9:00pm and I was looking for it around 8:15pm. So, last night, I went outside around 10:30pm to observe the moon, but the sky was so cloudy that I couldn't see it! The phase I would have seen had I been able to would have been waning gibbous.
